About this role
Carleton College’s Department of History and Program in Africana Studies seek applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in African history to begin September 1, 2027. The Ph.D. should be completed by July 2027. We welcome applicants in all regional and thematic subfields of African history and likewise welcome all historical methodologies. The teaching load is 5 courses distributed across three ten-week terms, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory as well as advanced courses and research seminars based on their own interests and expertise. The successful candidate will also work closely with and have primary service responsibilities in Carleton’s Africana Studies program.…
