POSITION PURPOSE Under supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nursing Director plans, implements, directs and evaluates the nursing care for assigned units for Perinatal Services. Coordinates the delivery of patient services; creates and maintains an environment conducive to learning. Provides for the development and evaluation of staff. Serves as a patient advocate within the health care system. Accountable on a twenty-four (24) hour basis for the management of all facets of nursing activities for assigned unit(s). Assures that nursing care meets legal, ethical, institutional, and professional standards. Participates in the Hospital’s Quality Improvement and Service Excellence programs.…
