Job Description: Phlebotomy Student learns how to accurately and compassionately collect patient specimens for laboratory diagnostic testing while working in a professional medical environment. Caregivers in this role will become skilled at performing venipuncture, capillary sticks and other basic phlebotomy skills before advancing into a Phlebotomist I position within Intermountain Health. (Phlebotomist I job description available upon request). Phlebotomist Student will attend a four-week course, including two weeks in the classroom and two-week externship. Students will be taught specific care and interventions for all patient populations and will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care for all age groups during their externship.…
