About this role

Background Aeroacoustic noise generated by aerodynamic interaction effects is a dominant contributor to the noise signature of lift-plus-cruise small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS), particularly in the mid-frequency range. In such configurations, complex interactions between rotors, wings, fuselage, and other lifting surfaces lead to pronounced tonal components associated with blade-passing frequencies and their harmonics. In addition broadband noise can play a significant role.
