Your job is more than a job. The Medical Laboratory Technician performs testing procedures under the supervision of a medical technologist. Prepares, preserves, stores, and transports specimens for referral testing. Inputs data in the Laboratory Information System and routes specimens according to established protocols. Operates, controls and troubleshoots automated clinical laboratory equipment. Performs venipuncture techniques and collects blood specimens from patients in support of laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs clinical laboratory testing of blood and body fluid constituents as requested by physicians. Evaluates and reports data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
