Your job is more than a job. As a trusted member of the operating room team, your top priority as a Surgical Technologist is a safe surgery for every patient. You’re the watch dog in the OR protecting patients from harm by maintaining a sterile environment. It’s all about preparation and anticipation, ensuring the instrumentation and equipment is there when the surgeon needs it. As a Surgical Tech you’re an extra pair of hands when needed passing out surgical instruments, positioning the patient, or sometimes, holding retractors if the surgeon asks. Stress?
