About this role
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs a variety of repairs and services to maintain heavy equipment. These duties require an understanding of intermediate heavy equipment maintenance. Essential Responsibilities: Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using Technical Manuals, lifting devices, hand and pneumatic tools Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges Replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions, and tests overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency Welds broken parts and structural members Performs all work in accordance to the applicable Technical Manual for the vehicle and work assigned.…
