About this role
The 3rd Mate is considered to be an entry level position within the Marine department. A candidate for 3rd Mate will be expected to immediately begin supplemental training in DP, Vessel Management, and Deck operations to be eligible to advance within the department to DPO, Senior DPO, Marine Section Leader, and OIM. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid US Unlimited Third Mates License with Liberian equivalent. Completion of all training requirements for the position within designated time period. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
